Well, its obviously a good time for reflection and forward looking. My favourite new year’s resolution tradition is crossing off three things from my bucket list. 2011 allowed me to cross off the following:
- own a violin/learn to play (I’ll admit saying I can play violin is a bit of a stretch right now, but technically, I can play a song. Looking to take lessons shortly.)
- ride in a helicopter
- gamble in Las Vegas
- see the Grand Canyon
- take an improv class
- ride a mechanical bull
Its funny because my main accomplishment for the year was passing my professional exams, but its a little dry for a bucket list.
Last NYE, my friends and I rang in the new year with Spanish traditions, and it actually looks like it followed through. I traveled well (Vegas, Miami, NYC, Chicago), got a raise at work, passed my exams, doing a little kindling, really - no complaints. In an age where no news is good news, I have lots to be happy for; this past year, and the year to come.
